4. Do not ever miss a meal. This is very important. When you miss a meal, you may think you are doing a good thing, you are not. What happens is your metabolism will slow down and hold onto extra calories. You need to eat on a regular basis in order to lose weight effectively.

5. The last thing to do before you start your diet and weight loss exercise program is consult your doctor and get his advise after he gives you a check up to make sure you are healthy enough for the program you are contemplating.

6. Increasing your activity level is something that is very important to losing weight effectively. You can take up gardening, this is good exercise. Begin walking to places that are close and that you used to drive to; you can even take the stairs instead of the elevator. Just these elementary things will help you reach your goal much faster than you thought.

7. Walking is a great way to burn fat; you will be able to do this easily for 30 minutes a day. After you do this for a few weeks you will see the results and be very encouraged to do more. Do it!
